The buildings dating back to 1802 were remodelled to incorporate four distinctive eating environments, namely The Horse Engine (conservatory), Animal Antics (family dining area), Loose Feathers Bar (board-walk dining) and the more intimate Lettuce Growers Society Bistro.

The menu changes regularly. Regular weekend live entertainment and children's indoor and outdoor play areas make Beancross one of the most popular eating venues in Central Scotland.
