Callendar House, Park & Woods

Callendar House, Park & Woods

Extensive park area surrounding Callendar House, open all year. With par 3 golf course, crazy golf, boating lake, children's play area, kiosk, pincic benches, go-karting and woodland walks. Remains of the Antonine Wall can also be seen at Callendar Park directly oposite Callendar House.

Also in the Park, visit, The Park Gallery (free admission) for contemporary visual arts and The Stables Teashop.

Callendar Woods has over 6 miles of carrisageways, tracks and paths, most of them dating from the 1870s, this is an extensive 16th century woodland area is just minutes from Falkirk town centre. With historical attractions incliding an Aroboretum, Ornamental Gardens, Mausolouem, Well, Waterhouse included along the three well mapped Woodland Trails.

Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre

Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre

The Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre with 10 acres of wildlife gardens and habitats is a relaxing retreat for both the young and old.

The Scottish Wildlife Trust in partnership with local people and industry have created an area of wetland, woodland and meadow containing 100s of native trees and 300 wildflower species.

As well as exploring the area, visitors can choose from over 200 species of native plants in the Wildflower Nursery where expert advice is on hand, and children are well catered for with daily activities and special events throughout the summer.

Muiravonside Country Park

Muiravonside Country Park

Visit Newparks Farm and meet the animals (domestic & exotic), or take a horse ride or follow the River Avon Heritage Trail and then enjoy refreshments at The Steading Café or in the picnic areas.

The Country Park, owned and managed by Falkirk Council Countryside Service, and formerly an estate owned by the Stirling family of Falkirk, is situated in the Southeast corner of the Falkirk Council area. It covers an area of 170 acres immersed in historic, industrial and wildlife interests. It is open all year round.

The park includes a Visitor Centre which provides details on the estate’s past history, the role of the Ranger Service and local biodiversity of the area.
