Bo'ness (population 13,000) was formely known as Borrowstounness and lies approximately 7 miles (return) east of Falkirk. The town is located on a hill overlooking the Firth of Forth.
Formerly a heavy industry port, Bo'ness is now a small commuter town with several tourist attractions providing an additional appeal for visitors. The railway runs along the shores of the Forth along a seven mile journey to Birkhill Station where visitors can also take in the nearby Fireclay Mine - an excellent adventure for families. The Bo'ness Motor Museum includes something for all ages with its collection of cars, its James Bond theme and its children's indoor playzone.
Adjoining Bo'ness is Kinneil, with its wonderful historic home and countryside park with marvellous woodland walks overlooking the Forth.
The town centre is a collection of independent shops set along cobbled streets.
There are several quality bed and breakfast providers in and around Bo'ness, offering you small town surroundings, but with access to a range of activities on your doorstep.
