Bonnybridge

Bonnybridge is a small town of key historic significance to the area at the time of the industrial revolution with sawmills, foundries, brickworks and whisky distilling.

The town today has changed and is mainly residential and commuter based with a very small shopping street of local independent traders. Hotel accommodation is limited, with nearby bed and breakfasts the main options when staying in Bonnybridge.

The town is overlooked by The Falkirk Wheel and the Forth & Clyde Canal passes on its way towards Falkirk in the east and Glasgow in the west and it provides some delightful walkways including a walk or cycle to the delightful Underwood Lock for waterside refreshments. The Antonine Wall and the remains of Rough Castle Roman Fort are also very nearby.

The town is now more famously connected with frequent UFO sightings. It is at the very heart of the "Falkirk Triangle" and UFO enthusiasts claim it is the world's number one UFO location with an average of over 300 sightings per year !
